Data Management
Omnify PLM provides a complete data management system that allows users to create product records for design, manufacturing, purchasing, quality/test, and services.
Data Management
Omnify PLM provides a complete data management system that allows users to create product records for design, manufacturing, purchasing, quality/test, and services.
The core building block of the Omnify PLM system is the Item Master. The Item Master can represent any product object (parts/components, documents, Bill of Material [BOM], Software Components, Machines/Instruments, etc).
Omnify PLM manages all revisions of the Item Master and provides a complete audit trail detailing all historical changes.
Examples of data managed on the Item Master include:
- Part Numbers, Descriptions, Status, Class Codes
- Unlimited parameters: costs, behavioral characteristics, physical characteristics, etc.
- Documents: design documents, datasheets, quotes, compliance statements, etc.
- Vendors: manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, etc.
- Service Records: serial/lot numbers, customers, etc.
Benefits of Data Management
- Single system to manage all necessary product data records
- Centralized product management for all groups; Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality
- Complete revision control and change traceability
- Engineering Integration Platform provides access to component data directly from CAD and CAE tools
- Enterprise Integration Platform provides data sharing with business systems such as ERP, MRP, and CRM
- Offers Materials Management multiple cost models to perform what/if analysis on the cost of future production
- Enables Procurement to easily manage multiple vendors for a part and identify the vendor of choice, and manage multiple costs
- Automates New Part Request (NPR) processes through workflow assignments and email alerts

Bill of Material Management
Managing the Bill of Material (BOM) is a key component in managing the definition of a product.
Bill of Material Management
Managing the Bill of Material (BOM) is a key component in managing the definition of a product.
An inaccurate or incomplete BOM can lead to delays in the development schedule and wasted production runs. Companies that do not leverage a PLM system to manage BOMs suffer from inaccurate data, lack of revision control to view and track changes, and informal Change/ECO management processes.
Omnify PLM provides full BOM management functionality including:
- Complete BOM revision control and audit trail
- Structured Change/ECO management process to control BOM (and other data) changes
- "Where Used/Not Used" information available on all items/parts
- Comprehensive importing/exporting/reporting to and from various file formats
- Direct integration with ERP system for automated BOM uploads/updates
- BOM comparisons (compare multiple BOMs)
- Complete BOM hierarchy viewing from a single form
- BOM Routing to document the manufacturing, assembly, test, and inspection procedures
Benefits of BOM Management:
- Eliminate manual BOM Management processes (Excel spreadsheets, file folders, etc.)
- Improve data integrity by eliminating error-prone manual BOM entry processes
- Implement streamlined/structured BOM Change/ECO processes
- Manage all released and pre-release/prototype BOM revisions
- Import data from any file format (Excel, XML, text, etc.) or directly from Engineering tools
- Ensure data accuracy through automatic uploads to ERP and other business systems

Flexible and Secure Environment
Omnify allows companies to apply their own business processes, data management rules, and workflows to define how product records are to be managed and controlled.
Flexible and Secure Environment
The Omnify technology architecture was created to be open and flexible enough to securely and reliably share information with Engineering and Enterprise systems.
The open architecture of the Omnify platform allows customers to leverage their investment in existing business and engineering systems and deploy the Omnify system without interrupting their current processes. This is a key advantage over other PLM systems which can dramatically interrupt operations and lead to a painful transition.
Omnify offers out-of-the-box, bi-directional integration with systems such as:
- ERP and MRP
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Mechanical CAD (MCAD)
- Electrical CAD (ECAD/CAE)
- Content Providers (Part Information)
- Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Enterprise Integration
Omnify has successfully implemented integrations with a number of ERP, PDM, and CRM systems such as: SAP® ERP, Oracle® ERP, Consona ERP (Intuitive™/Made 2 Manage®), Epicor®, Expandable ERP, Fourth Shift, Infor™ ERP, Sage Software, NetSuite®, and Microsoft Dynamics® GP

Project Management
Tracking resources, schedules, deliverables, and tasks is critical to meet time-to-market, customer, and/or management deadlines.
Project Management
Tracking resources, schedules, deliverables, and tasks is critical to meet time-to-market, customer, and/or management deadlines.
Associating project information with product records not only allows deadlines and tasks to be visible to all groups involved in product development, but it also provides an analysis and trend recognition facility to correct and improve product development cycles. The Omnify PLM Project Management module is integrated with all product data stored in Omnify to centralize product and project data.
The Omnify Project Management module provides a facility to:
- Capture and track critical project data (schedules, tasks, resources, deliverables, etc.)
- Integrate and associate project and product data
- Report and analyze projects (trend analysis, resource allocation, schedule predictions)
- Automate task status and progress
Benefits of Project Management:
- Centralized product and project/program data
- Greater visibility of project/product progress across all development groups
- Automated alerts - guide users to critical tasks
- Accurate prediction of product completion/delivery
- Improved resource usage/allocation
- Trend analysis - identify problem areas, shorten development cycles

Change and ECO Management
Omnify PLM software helps companies manage and track changes to ensure their products success.
Change and ECO Management
Omnify PLM software helps companies manage and track changes to ensure their products success.
During product development, change is the only constant. Many times, multiple product document "kits" (BOMs, documentation, etc.) are sent to manufacturing groups, resulting in inconsistency and confusion - which one is correct, what are the differences from one to the next, why, when and by whom were changes made and approved?
The change management challenge does not stop when the design is in volume production. Suppliers change and have different process requirements, components become obsolete (End Of Life), software is updated, manuals are updated-the changes are continuous. Managing the change process within Omnify helps manufacturers develop a simplified engineering change process and eliminate these challenges.
Omnify PLM Change/ECO management provides:
- Full data redlining (BOMs, Documents, Suppliers, Status, Parameters, etc.)
- Automatic redline/change creation upon BOM import
- Automated workflow processing
- Parallel/concurrent changes for affected items
- Customizable Change/ECO classification (ECR, ECO, ECN, MCO, Deviations, etc.) and rules
Benefits of Change/ECO Management
- Eliminate manual Change creation
- Reduce cycle time – parallel and serial workflow processing
- Automatic user signoff email alerts
- Automatic data update/creation upon release
- Full audit trail for changes
