EMA Design Automation established the OrCAD® North America Academic Program to help colleges and universities better prepare their future graduates for the PCB design workplace. This program provides industry-standard, commercial-grade software tools at reduced prices to accredited colleges and universities for educational purposes.
At the heart of the academic program is the OrCAD PCB Designer Suite for Academic Institutions, a specially-packaged tool set that includes industry-standard OrCAD software for schematic design entry, PCB layout and editing, autorouting, mixed-signal simulation/analysis and signal integrity exploration.More>
Today's increasingly complex electronic design automation systems have created a unique challenge for virtually all engineering departments. While more engineers now have design tools readily available at their desks, many do not enough hands-on experience with their tools to use them productively. Those who do have experience face the ongoing challenge of staying current with improved software capabilities. With multiple users, even a seemingly small productivity improvement can have a significant effect on design productivity, time-to-market, and even a direct tie to the bottom line.
With that challenge in mind, EMA Design Automation's Educational Services Group has developed a series of two- and three-day classroom training sessions for Cadence® OrCAD Capture, Cadence OrCAD Layout, Analog Simulation with Cadence PSpice®, and Cadence SPECCTRA® for OrCAD. Advanced courses are offered for OrCAD Layout and PSpice. These courses are presented across North America by full-time professional instructors with many years of hands-on industry experience.

EMA iTrain Online provides
self-paced Internet training solutions for Timing Designer and OrCAD PCB design tools. Each iTrain course teaches design concepts and skills
through a text-based three-step “explain”, “demonstrate”, and “hands-on” learning process. The iTrain program utilizes the same materials that
are used in EMA’s popular classroom training, including self-paced labs with real world design examples. Live technical support is available to
answer questions as they arise, and participants can evaluate their progress in a special “Test Your Knowledge” section for each course. EMA
iTrain Online enables you to become highly confident and proficient in all aspects of PCB design, circuit simulation and timing analysis – by
working and learning at your own pace.
iTrain courses can be purchased online through the EDA store. View iTrain datasheet.
Our FREE web-based
demonstrations allow you to join an interactive demonstration from
the convenience of your desktop or anywhere you have Internet access
and a telephone connection. Each online demonstration typically
lasts 40 to 50 minutes and each event has a question and answer
session.
