Complimentary “hands-on” technical workshops designed to assist customers who
are evaluating Cadence technology.
Today, engineering teams in the electronics industry face unprecedented challenges in product
development characterized by shorter design cycles, stringent cost constraints, new feature
requirements, and smaller geometries—in order to help you accelerate through these challenges
EMA is offering a variety of technology workshops.
EMA’s hands-on technical workshops combine lecture, live demonstration, and “hands-on” labs.
Customers can “test drive” a product and get a firsthand user-experience of the full range of the
technology’s capabilities. The workshops are delivered by one of our technology Application Engineers,
and each workshop is typically given in a small group of no more than 12 people. This optimizes the
hands-on experience and interactive environment that workshops are intended to provide.
An average workshop session is approximately four hours in length. For your convenience, our
workshops are hosted onsite at your facilities. EMA supplies the computers, manuals, software,
and licenses for use during the workshop.
EMA currently offers the following hands-on workshops:
- Introduction to Cadence® Allegro® PCB Signal Integrity
Find out how to explore, optimize, and resolve electrical performance-related issues at all stages
of the design cycle. Complete workshop overview>
- Front to Back PCB Design Flow with Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL
Learn how to take a PCB design from design intent (in schematic form) through to PCB manufacturing
output. Complete workshop overview>
- Cadence Allegro PCB SI GXLMulti-Gigahertz Design
Find out how to design and implement Multi-gigahertz (GHz) serial links with Cadence leading-edge
methodology and design tools. Complete workshop overview>
- Cadence Encounter® Conformal® Equivalence Checker
Learn how Encounter Conformal Equivalence Checker performs extended functional checks by
verifying design areas not verified by traditional equivalence checkers, and finds difficult
implementation bugs early in the design cycle. CDC addresses two key problems: metastability
and data stability. Complete workshop overview>
- Cadence Virtuoso® Custom Design Platform (release IC 6.1)
Optimal IC design requires success in a string of activities from beginning to end. From schematic
capture, to multi-mode simulation, through accelerated layout, and finally detailed silicon analysis,
the Virtuoso platform contains all elements necessary for fast, silicon accurate circuit design. The
IC 6.1 release provides a variety of enhancements to the flow that improve productivity over
previous releases and provide significant new functionality. This workshop highlights new features
and functionality in the IC 6.1 release showing the improved GUI, productivity enhancements, and
new functionality. Complete workshop overview>
- Cadence Virtuoso Digital Implementation Option (6 hours total)
This 6-hour hands-on workshop introduces a complete block authoring flow from floorplanning
through digital implementation to final verification. It is designed to allow anyone with a basic
knowledge of physical implementation and Cadence technologies to complete the entire flow in
one day. Complete workshop overview>
- Cadence Virtuoso Accelerated Layout Workshop
This physical implementation workshop is a half-day, hands-on tutorial that allows you to see first-hand
how you can significantly increase your productivity and simplify your custom layout tasks. You will
learn to effectively use the Virtuoso Schematic Editor, Virtuoso XL Layout Editor, and Virtuoso Chip
Assembly Router Complete workshop overview>
