Setup: Required Allegro X AI Inputs

The following inputs should be defined in Allegro X AI to accurately communicate your design intent and ensure the best results:

  • Map Routing Layers
  • Define Routing Options

Routing Layers

Location: Allegro X AI

Define which layers are used for routing and exclude surface layers if appropriate. This will inform Allegro X AI which layers traces can be routed on.

Recommendation:

If layer set rules are configured, be sure to select Apply Constraint Layer Set Rules.

Routing Options

Location: Allegro X AI

Define if routing will occur globally or on selected nets in the design. Additionally, configure the appropriate options for routing including:

  • 100% connection: Connect all signal nets. Note this may result in DRCs/shorts
  • Maximize Completing: Allow unsuccessful routes or routes generating DRCs to remain unrouted
  • Routability Estimation Only: Fast run time, smoothing disabled
