This week’s Working with OrCAD video, Copper, discusses and the many features Cadence provides designers when dealing with copper shapes in addition to a few design best practices. It covers how to add various types of solid copper elements, sectioning plane layers, etc. It also reviews the different ways copper can be added to a layer (dynamic, solid copper, or crosshatch) and the merging of copper shapes.

Assuring power integrity of a PCB requires the contributions of multiple design team members. Traditionally, such an effort has involved a time-consuming process for a back-end-focused expert at the front end of a design. This paper examines a collaborative team-based approach that makes more efficient use of resources and provides more impact at critical points in the design process.
