The final video to our Working with OrCAD series, Outputs, will discuss how to output all the necessary deliverables required by various downstream partners. It will discuss output options such as IPC2581, IDX, ODB++, IPC 356, Fabmaster, Gerber, Step, PDF, and more. In addition, it will briefly discuss how one can automate the output process.

Have you or your team ever designed a board with the intention of reusing the same parts and circuits in future projects? Oftentimes you will run into instances where portions of your circuitry could be used in multiple projects, yet you are forced to start from scratch because your software does not easily allow you to re-use your circuitry. It can be frustrating to have to “re-invent the wheel” and go through the same testing and analysis to make sure your design is just as efficient as the first time around.

It covers how to add various types of solid copper elements, sectioning plane layers, etc. It also reviews the different ways copper can be added to a layer (dynamic, solid copper, or crosshatch) and the merging of copper shapes.
