This past weekend’s Rochester Mini Maker Faire was full of inspiration. With over 125 makers including hobbyist, craftsman, and start-ups, along with 3600 attendees, the showcase floor was packed with exciting activities around every corner. Highlights from this weekend’s fair included a 19ft by 30ft fire-breathing dragon, an amazing sci-fi world made from millions of toothpicks, robots of all shapes and sizes, and of course EMA’s Create a Schematic hands-on workshop.

The old ways of managing PCB design data and communicating changes across the organization are no longer sufficient in today’s competitive electronics driven marketplace. Learn how bi-directional interfaces connecting the OrCAD design environment and your PLM system are essential for gaining a competitive edge in our upcoming webinar.

Our most recent webinar, Constraint-driven design with OrCAD Capture, provided attendees with an overview of Constraint Manager for OrCAD. It is a new option available directly within the OrCAD Capture interface and can help define and embed constraints at the beginning of the design process—ensuring they will be communicated clearly. In addition to the overview on constraint-driven design, Janine Flagg, one of our senior field applications engineers, provided an in-depth demo on the product and answered any questions attendees may have had.

The inclusion differential pairs within a design introduces a wide variety of concerns engineers need to be mindful of if they want them to be reliable. Differential pairs are prone to problems if routing requirements and other guidelines are not followed, therefore it is imperative they are done correctly and design rules are always defined and adhered to. To help you as you navigate these rules and help provide some clarity on the topic, we have created an infographic: The Anatomy of a Differential Pair.

We are continuously adding new functionalities to the OrCAD Interactive 3D Canvas. Now you can even visualize bending of a multi-zone rigid-flex design. You can view its folded state, conduct collision checks when the design is bent, and measure a selected path in 3D mode.
